TYLOO will replace Rare Atom during ESL Conference Season 16

The Chinese esports team Rare Atom will not be able to participate in the ESL Conference Season 16. The organizers of the league announced the replacement of the winner of the ESL Challenger League 40 (Asia-Pacific) with the finalist – another Chinese team TYLOO.

Circumstances of replacement

The reason for this decision was the refusal of Rare Atom representatives to participate in the championship due to problems with the preparation of departure documents. The severe epidemiological situation in some provinces of China, in particular in Shanghai, where the team is based, put an end to Rare Atom's good tournament prospects.

Chinese esports players will now be replaced by others: the members of the TYLOO team are currently staying in the UAE and have no difficulties with visas. Their invitation to the tournament is very logical – it was TYLOO who lost to Rare Atom in the final of the selection in the Asia-Pacific region with a score of 1 - 3.

Championship format and participants

The super-spectacular battles of the ESL Conference Season 16 will be held from June 15 to June 20 in the Elmia exhibition center in Jönköping, Sweden. At stake is a modest prize pool of $15,000 and 6 valuable tickets to ESL Pro League Season 16.

16 teams will participate in the tournament: Outsiders, Sprout, Encore ESC, HEET, MIBR, Strife Esports, ORDER, VERTEX Esports Club, Endpoint, Cowana Gaming, Illuminar Gaming, For The Win Esports, Falcons Esports, Eternal Fire, HUMMER Esports, TYLOO.

Participants will play for a cash prize and places in the season in elimination matches. Each of them will be held in the Bo3 (Best of 3) format. As a result, 6 winners of the competition will receive coveted slots for participation in the season. The winners of the 7th and 8th places will get $2,500 each, the teams that took 9th and 12th places – $1,500 each and the last four teams – $1,000 each.

ESL Pro League Season 16 will be held from August 31 to October 2. The prize fund of the final tournament will be $835,000. The organizer of the competition will be ESL, and the main sponsor will be Intel company. The winner will get the grand prize of $175,000 and a place in the BLAST World Final 2022.
