The International 10 is officially taking place this year!
On the official Dota 2 website, news has appeared that TI10 will take place this year and the dates have already been announced but changed some times later. Due to the circumstances in the world, Valve had to take a forced break, but this year the long-awaited tournament with a record prize pool of $40.018.195 is planned to be held in October in Bucharest, Romania. The group stage of the tournament will take place from 7 to 10 October, unless unforeseen circumstances interfere with the plans for the largest esports event. Further, the main stage with the grand final for completion was set from 12 to 17 October. The top two teams of the season will be competing for Aegis very soon and will also take the lion's share of the prize pool.
Despite the fact that the organization of the tournament is carried out against a very fickle news background, for obvious reasons, and there is a possibility that you will have to adapt to the circumstances, the Valve team makes every effort to ensure that the event that everyone wants is held at a high level, without neglecting safety. This is what prevents the organizers from informing about the possibility of a live presence at the tournament, but as soon as it turns out to understand all the nuances and find a solution that is beneficial for everyone, Valve will definitely inform about their strategy in this direction. Details on this issue are expected in June.
Despite the hopes of many of us, the Battle Pass 2021 will not be released this year. It doesn't make sense for Valve to inflate the prize pool this year, but they do remember their promise to freshen up Dota 2 with new regular content. Instead of releasing everything all at once during the Season Battle Pass, players will be offered events like Dark Rise, as well as seasonal updates for Dota Plus. Two events are expected in the near future. One of them will be available in the client, as promised by Valve, in the middle to the end of the first summer month, and the second event will be released after the winner of The International is known. As previously stated, the prize pool will not be replenished from these events. But if there is a very strong desire to help your favorite team, the game client has the opportunity to become a member of the support club of your favorite esports team. For membership in the club, the player receives some rewards, and the teams receive 50% of the sales of fan club passes.
But these are probably not the last innovations of the summer period, and something else is waiting for us, as well as new opportunities that will carry the goal of drawing attention to the main and long-awaited esports tournament of this year.
