For players and fans of CS:GO concludes with a number of news, which for some brought joy and pride, and for others became a cause of frustration and a desire to wait until the start of the new season to start chasing victory again. What has already happened in one of the most popular e-sports disciplines, and what should we expect in the near future? Let's take a look below.
ESL Pro League Season 15 Conference kicked off brightly
ESL Pro League Season 15 Conference Stage kicked off on November 23 and is organized by one of the top eSports operators. During it, three teams will be determined, which will go to EPL Season 15 with a prize fund of $823,000. At the tournament, viewers will be able to bet on CS:GO and receive winnings.
Interestingly, each team taking part in the championship will receive a reward - between those who will not take the prize, the organizers will share 270 ESL Pro Tour ranking points, as well as $27,000. This is not strange, because all the teams are the best representatives of their divisions and various tournaments.
ESL Pro League Season 15 Conference will be held without the group stage - the championship starts immediately with the playoffs. Teams will play in a double-elimination Vo3 format with the possibility of committing one mistake. The plan is to distribute two invitations on the top grid and one on the bottom.
It is noteworthy that the Conference stage participants will be teams of different caliber. Here we will meet famous teams like MAD Lions - the 21st best CS:GO team according to HLTV - or Belgian EC Brugge, who isn't even in the top 100. And we already have the first results: well-started GODSENT, Renegades, and Extra Salt left behind Wisla Krakow, Sprout, and Renewal, who have now moved to the bottom of the grid.
How did the Red Bull Flick 2vs2 Helsinki Invitational 2021 end?
On November 20-21, CS:GO teams participated in the Red Bull Flick 2vs2 Helsinki Invitational 2021 tournament. The 2v2 format is atypical for this discipline. And it was under this scheme 16 duos from all over the world competed, among them were not only professional, but also amateur athletes.
The winner of the tournament was Team Spirit, whose players defeated Puteli & blaze with a score of 2:1 and received $50,000.
All matches were held on the Swiss system. Despite the good ratings of teams such as G2, BIG, FURIA, OG, ENCE, the duos presented from them suffered three defeats and eliminated from the competition. At the same time, for SDY, the title of champion was the last for Team Spirit. But the duo of Nikola NiKo Kovac, who had been considered the tournament's favorite from the beginning, failed to take the lead.
Coach's camera bug: What about the integrity of the athletes?
Vyacheslav Innersh1ne Britvin, who is an analyst for FaZe Clan, demonstrated the presence of a coaching bug in CS:GO, which allegedly has been fixed before. This is a bug with the camera working in observer mode, which allows you to view matches from any point on the map, not tied to the player.
ESIC found that the coaches of some professional teams have used this defect. Upon investigation, the commission has blocked more than 40 coaches, among whom was Robert RobbaN Dahlström - mentor FaZe Clan.
And finally, Astralis began to cooperate with Aim Lab. Their joint efforts will focus on developing new tools to support the players based on Playerbase. Also, very soon players of different levels will be able to use the new training videos to improve their level.
